Dear waterfowl hunters,

Please take the time to complete this online survey. The survey is being sent to hunters throughout the Atlantic Flyway, and your answers will be used to help develop regulations that will provide the most hunting opportunity, while maintaining healthy duck populations.

stonecrabAction: Recreational and commercial season opens Oct. 15 in state and federal waters

Information:

  • Only the claws may be harvested
  • Claws must be at least 2 ¾ inches to be harvested
  • Bag limit: 1 gallon of claws per person, 2 gallons per vessel, whichever is less
  • Harvest of claws from females with eggs is prohibited
  • May 16: Season closes
  • Cannot use any device that can puncture, crush or injure the crab body
  • 5 trap maximum per person

Bobwhite Quail Quota Hunts Deadline Soon: Got Your Application in Yet?

APPLY FOR QUAIL QUOTA HUNTS BEFORE OCT. 15 DEADLINE

In cooperation with the Bobwhite Quail Initiative, two landowners have each volunteered to host up to two youth hunters with accompanying adults (two adult/youth pair). These hunts are outstanding opportunities to harvest some wild quail and have an amazing experience.  While these special hunts won’t take place until January, the deadline to get your application in is coming quickly-Oct. 15!

To apply, a letter must be sent to the Bobwhite Quail Initiative office of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.  So, check your calendar and get those letters in – don’t let this deadline pass you by!
