Outdoor Channel Kicks Off 8th Annual “Gear Up And Go!” Consumer Campaign


WHO: Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV, and a variety of popular outdoor consumer brands.

WHAT: As hunters and adventure-seekers alike prepare for the start of the 2014-15 hunting season, Outdoor Channel is launching its eighth annual multi-platform Gear Up and Go! sweepstakes. The nationwide promotion, which runs during the entire month of October, aims to ring in the season by offering devoted Outdoor Channel viewers the chance to win daily prizes, in addition to one ultimate grand prize.

HOW: Outdoor Channel will encourage viewers throughout October to participate in the Gear Up and Go! sweepstakes on www.OutdoorChannel.com through digital and social media marketing pushes, as well as on-air TV spots. From there, they will be directed to a dedicated Gear Up and Go! microsite to enter and view a full listing of the special prizes up for grabs.

This year’s prizes include viewing gear, rifle scopes, bows, GPS products, as well as various hunting and adventure accessories provided by notable participating brands, such as Easton, Irish Setter and Yeti. Additionally, there are a variety of prize packs, including a set of camping gear, a full lightweight hunting outfit, and a trip to the 2015 Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) in Las Vegas. This year’s grand prize, The Ultimate Hunting Gear Giveaway, is valued at over $17,000 and includes a 2015 Polaris SxS Ranger ETX, a Yeti hunting package and a Badlands 220 backpack.

Hundreds of participating cable, satellite and telecommunications providers nationwide, representing almost 60 million subscribers, have signed on for the promotion.

Since the inception of Gear Up and Go!, Outdoor Channel has enrolled more than 750,000 consumer entries.
