I Blame Me

For those of you who may find it to be an important statement to desecrate and destroy the American Flag, I would ask you to consider some things that perhaps you do not know…or do not care about. Our Flag is a powerful symbol of strength, perseverance and unity of the American people. It is a symbol of the sacrifice of ordinary citizens who became extraordinary defenders of our Nations principles throughout history. That flag means more than life itself to many Americans, past, present and future. It is a symbol that represents Liberty and the very freedom guaranteed you to desecrate it. Your actions may be legally and principally an exercise in free speech (as unbelievable as that even sounds to me) but it is also akin to biting the hand that feeds you…and that in itself is the height of arrogance and stupidity. It is important to stand up for what you believe in but there are lines we should never cross in this country, especially the sacred ones…and this is one of them. It is clear to me that this is not simply an issue that you are standing up for…it is a tool you are using to incite and divide. It is a display of your absolute arrogance and ignorance. What really disgusts me about it is that it plays right into the agenda of the Liberal establishment.
We can all have different positions on important issues. We can rally, picket and stage protests to ensure that we are being heard. We can form committees, petition our elected congressional leaders and use our constitutionally guaranteed rights and resources to make our case and influence change. We can listen to the issues objectively and then get out and vote (which most Americans do not do). We can be willing to make reasonable concessions and accept consensus, even when it is not what we want at the time. We can clean our own house and give ourselves some much needed credibility so that our position doesn’t fall on deaf ears. There are many things we can do as citizens that are legal, moral and civil…and when employed as part of a collective and strategic approach, very effective in the pursuit of changes or concessions on issues that we feel strongly about. But instead, we show our arrogance and our ignorance…and desecrating the most sacred of our National Symbols is only a small example of the height of it. America has become chaotic and disjointed and I do not think it is simply a matter of failed leadership. I blame me…I blame us.
For allowing it. For being passive in our opposition…for not standing up and saying NO to the leftist agenda that we know will destroy our country. For not organizing and being heard, I blame me. For not forming a committee or hounding my local and district congressional leaders. I blame me. For not cleaning my own house, I blame me…For allowing the steady deterioration of our rights and our values, I blame me…I blame us.
